Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the continuation of the suspension of trading in the shares of M/s. Business & Industrial Insurance Company Limited. This decision is based on the company's ongoing non-compliance with several regulatory requirements. The suspension will remain in effect until the company addresses these issues or for an additional period of 60 days starting from July 30, 2026.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the suspension is linked to the company's failure to hold its Annual General Meetings and submit its annual audited accounts. Additionally, the company has not settled its dues with the Exchange, and winding-up proceedings have been initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The decision to maintain the suspension was made under the authority granted to the Exchange by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.
M/s. Business & Industrial Insurance Company Limited's compliance issues fall under Clauses 5.11.1.(b), (c), (d), and 5.11.2.(b) of the PSX Regulations, which necessitate regulatory adherence and financial accountability. The current suspension follows a prior notice, PSX/N-666, dated May 29, 2026, addressing the same concerns.
The company operates within the insurance sector of the designated market category. The PSX has emphasized that the suspension will remain in place until the company rectifies the non-compliance issues or until the specified additional suspension period concludes.
