Attock Cement Explores Merger with Fauji Cement Amid Financial Adjustments

Karachi: Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd. reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, with significant developments and strategic decisions unveiled at the company's board meeting held on August 11, 2026, in Rawalpindi.

The company declared a final cash dividend of NIL per share for the year 2026, in addition to the interim dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share, equating to 5%, already disbursed. In a move that could reshape its business landscape, the board authorized management to evaluate a potential merger with Fauji Cement Company Limited, an initiative that could have far-reaching implications for the cement industry.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Attock Cement is also set to relocate its registered office from Karachi, Sindh, to Rawalpindi, Punjab. This transition is subject to shareholder approval via a special resolution in the upcoming Annual General Meeting, scheduled for September 22, 2026.

The company's financial statements reveal a total asset base of 50.33 billion rupees, consistent with the previous year's 50.42 billion rupees. The revenue from contracts with customers surged to 44.32 billion rupees, marking a significant move of 33.06% from the prior year's 33.31 billion rupees. Despite this, the company faced increased distribution and administrative costs, which impacted its overall profitability.

Profit before income tax rose to 5.28 billion rupees from 2.86 billion rupees in the preceding year, while the net profit for the year stood at 3.42 billion rupees, reflecting a very large increase of 97.34%. Basic and diluted earnings per share more than doubled to Rs. 24.86 from Rs. 12.60.
