Lahore: Allied Bank Limited's Board of Directors, in a meeting held on August 19, 2026, has announced an interim cash dividend of Rs. 4.00 per share, marking a 40% distribution for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. This dividend supplements an earlier interim dividend of the same amount already distributed to shareholders.
The announcement comes in light of Allied Bank Limited's financial results for the half-year ending June 30, 2026. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the bank's profit after taxation declined to Rs. 15.71 billion, compared to Rs. 17.46 billion reported for the same period last year, indicating a big move of -9.98%. This translated to a reduction in the basic and diluted earnings per share from Rs. 15.25 to Rs. 13.72.
The bank's total assets increased from Rs. 3.37 trillion as of December 31, 2025, to Rs. 3.74 trillion by June 30, 2026. This growth in assets was primarily driven by an increase in investments, which rose from Rs. 2.14 trillion to Rs. 2.48 trillion, as well as cash and balances with treasury banks, which climbed from Rs. 171.78 billion to Rs. 197.97 billion.
Total liabilities for Allied Bank Limited also experienced an upward trajectory, reaching Rs. 3.48 trillion by June 30, 2026, from Rs. 3.11 trillion reported at the end of December 2025. The bank's deposits and other accounts witnessed a significant rise from Rs. 2.35 trillion to Rs. 2.62 trillion.
The bank's net mark-up/interest income saw a modest increase, moving from Rs. 51.65 billion in the first half of 2025 to Rs. 53.07 billion for the same period in 2026. Non mark-up/interest income also increased, reaching Rs. 15.64 billion from Rs. 14.13 billion.
Despite these upward trends in income and assets, the bank's net assets fell from Rs. 263.38 billion as of December 31, 2025, to Rs. 257.91 billion by June 30, 2026. The bank has scheduled the closure of its share transfer books from August 31, 2026, to September 2, 2026. Transfers received by the close of business on August 28, 2026, will be eligible for the declared dividend. The bank's half-yearly report will be disseminated through the Public Company Uniform Computerized Account Reporting System (PUCARS) within the designated period.
