Director of Tariq Corporation Limited Sells Over 500,000 Shares Amid Market Movements

Karachi: Tariq Corporation Limited disclosed a significant series of share sales by its Director, Ahmed Ali Tariq, according to a report dated August 19, 2026. The transactions, executed over three consecutive days, involved the sale of a considerable number of preference shares, contributing to notable market activity.

On August 17, Ahmed Ali Tariq initiated the sale with 31,500 shares at a rate of 12.42, marking the beginning of a series of transactions that would total over half a million shares by the end of the week. This initial transaction adjusted his cumulative shareholding to 6.07 million shares, which constituted 42.01% of the company's total shares.

The following day, August 18, Tariq continued to divest, selling an additional 427,000 shares at 11.49 each. This transaction reduced his cumulative holdings to 5.64 million shares, representing 39.06% of the company's shares.

On the final day, August 19, he sold 41,500 shares at a rate of 10.52. This last sale brought his total holdings down to 5.60 million shares, equivalent to 38.77% of the total shares.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the transactions by Tariq, a key figure in the company, are indicative of a very large or significant move in the market. The cumulative percentage drop in his shareholding was significant over the three-day period.

The designated market category for these transactions was the 'Ready' market, as indicated in the company's disclosure. The sales have been tracked through the Central Depository Company (CDC), ensuring transparency and adherence to the PSX regulations.
