Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has appointed Abdul Wahid Sethi, the Chief Financial Officer of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), as the acting President and CEO of the bank, as per a notification from the Finance Division. The announcement was made on August 21, 2026, through notification number F.No. 1(33) Bkg-III/2018.
Mr. Sethi will assume the role for an interim period of three months or until a regular President and CEO is appointed, whichever comes first. The decision aligns with the Corporate Governance Regulatory Framework, ensuring continued management of the bank’s day-to-day operations during the transitional phase.
