Karachi: Pak Qatar General Takaful has reported a robust financial performance for the year ending December 31, 2025, with a notable increase in its gross contribution, driven primarily by a significant surge in its health segment. The company's total gross contribution reached Rs. 1.41 billion, marking a 20% increase from the Rs. 1.17 billion recorded in 2024, according to the corporate brief session report dated August 21, 2026.
The report reveals that the health segment experienced a staggering 106% increase, with contributions rising from Rs. 139.13 million in 2024 to Rs. 285.96 million in 2025. This growth classified as a very large or significant move is a key factor contributing to the company's overall performance enhancement. The motor segment, which remains the largest contributor, accounted for 44% of the portfolio mix in 2025, registering an 8% increase to Rs. 618.86 million from Rs. 571.72 million in the previous year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Pak Qatar's fire and marine segments also reported positive growth. The fire segment saw a 2% increase, classified as a minor move, which brought its contributions to Rs. 257.84 million. Meanwhile, the marine segment contributed Rs. 175.78 million, reflecting a substantial 26% rise, categorized as a very large or significant move.
The company's net underwriting income grew from Rs. 431.46 million in 2024 to Rs. 542.59 million in 2025, as detailed in the profit and loss account. However, the net takaful claims, including IBNR, increased to Rs. 521.02 million from Rs. 401.23 million, impacting the surplus before investment income, which declined to Rs. 15.60 million from Rs. 23.83 million. Despite this, investment income remained strong at Rs. 17.24 million, aiding in a surplus transfer to accumulated surplus of Rs. 28.82 million.
In terms of the shareholders' fund, the company reported a profit before taxation of Rs. 167.59 million, slightly up from Rs. 163.93 million in 2024. After taxation, the profit attributable to shareholders was Rs. 118.17 million, compared to Rs. 113.79 million in the previous year. Earnings per share saw a minor move with a slight decline to Rs. 1.83 from Rs. 1.86.
The company's six-year aggregate gross contributions displayed a consistent upward trend, with 2025 contributions standing at Rs. 1.4 billion, up from Rs. 1.2 billion in 2024. This indicates a steady growth trajectory, positioning Pak Qatar General Takaful as a significant player in Pakistan's insurance industry.
