Tri-Pack Films Limited Reports Significant Turnaround in Half-Year Financial Results

Karachi: Tri-Pack Films Limited has released its interim financial results for the half year ending June 30, 2026, signaling a notable turnaround from the previous year. The company reported a profit after tax of Rs. 362 million, a stark contrast to the Rs. 468 million loss recorded during the same period last year.

The report, dated August 28, 2026, outlines that the company's net sales value rose to Rs. 17,267 million, marking a 19% increase from the Rs. 14,511 million reported in the corresponding period of 2025. This surge in revenue is attributed to higher raw material prices, despite a 2% decline in local sales volumes due to disruptions in raw material supplies amid regional conflict.

The company's gross profit margin also saw improvement, standing at 14.5% compared to 13.3% the previous year. This improvement is credited to timely pricing decisions and operational efficiencies that offset pressures from increased raw material costs, the imposition of Grid Levy, and inflationary impacts. Consequently, the operating profit experienced a very large or significant move, climbing by 86% from Rs. 956 million to Rs. 1,779 million.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Tri-Pack Films Limited's financial performance reflects a strategic focus on cost management and operational efficiency. The directors highlighted a one-off remeasurement gain of Rs. 444 million, resulting from the settlement of the Sindh Infrastructure Development Cess (SIDC) liability under the Sindh Development and Maintenance of Infrastructure Cess (Amendment) Act, 2026.

This gain contributed to the positive shift in the company's profit before tax and levies, which reached Rs. 1,075 million, compared to a loss of Rs. 288 million in the same period last year. The earnings per share also improved significantly, moving from a loss of Rs. 12.07 to a profit of Rs. 9.34.

The Directors emphasized their commitment to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies, which remained a priority throughout the period. With this robust performance, Tri-Pack Films Limited positions itself favorably in the designated market category, demonstrating resilience and strategic agility in a challenging economic landscape.
