Otsuka Pakistan Limited Reports Significant Profit Increase Amid Stagnant Dividends

Karachi: Otsuka Pakistan Limited has announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a significant rise in profitability despite a decision to maintain nil dividends. This announcement was made following a Board of Directors meeting held on September 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.

The pharmaceutical company reported a profit of 472.12 million rupees for the year ended June 30, 2026, a substantial increase from the 27.68 million rupees recorded in the previous year. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's revenue from contracts with customers rose to 4.11 billion rupees from 3.78 billion rupees, marking a very large or significant move of 8.79%.

Otsuka Pakistan's gross profit surged to 1.46 billion rupees from 863.40 million rupees, driven by a reduction in cost of sales to 2.65 billion rupees from 2.92 billion rupees. The gross profit margin expansion underscores the company's improved operational efficiency.

The company's operating profit also saw a notable increase to 782.97 million rupees, up from 162.91 million rupees, reflecting the firm's strategic focus on cost management and revenue growth. Other income contributed 291.67 million rupees to the financials, up from 128.29 million rupees the previous year, indicating enhanced income from non-core activities.

Despite the robust financial performance, Otsuka Pakistan announced that no cash dividends, bonus shares, or right shares would be distributed to shareholders for the fiscal year. The company's total equity rose to 1.16 billion rupees from 695.78 million rupees, indicating strengthened financial stability.

Otsuka Pakistan's liabilities were reported at 1.86 billion rupees, slightly up from 1.85 billion rupees, while revenue reserves increased significantly to 1.04 billion rupees from 574.78 million rupees. The company's earnings per share also climbed to 39.02 rupees from 2.29 rupees, reflecting the significant improvement in profitability.
