Trading Suspension Extended for First National Bank Modaraba Shares

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the continuation of the trading suspension for the certificates of M/s. First National Bank Modaraba. This decision follows the failure of the Modaraba to address issues outlined in PSX Notice No.PSX/N-813 dated July 03, 2026, regarding non-compliance with specific regulatory requirements.

As of September 4, 2026, trading in the certificates will remain suspended for an additional 60 days. This action is due to the Modaraba's ongoing non-compliance with Clause 5.11.1.(a) and 5.11.2.(b) of the PSX Regulations. The clauses pertain to the suspension of commercial production or business operations in its principal line of business and a winding-up petition filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) against the Modaraba in court.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision to extend the suspension is executed under the authority granted by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations. The suspension will persist until the Modaraba rectifies the causes or until the expiration of the 60-day period.
