Karachi: National Foods Limited has reported a notable increase in its financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The company's Board of Directors, in a meeting held on September 18, 2026, at its registered corporate office in Karachi, recommended a final cash dividend of Rs. 5 per share, equating to a 100% payout. This is in addition to previously paid interim dividends amounting to Rs. 25 per share or 500%.
The company's financial results revealed a significant improvement in profitability. According to the unconsolidated statement of profit or loss, National Foods Limited achieved a net sales figure of Rs. 49.90 billion, up from Rs. 44.59 billion in the previous year. This resulted in a gross profit of Rs. 18.79 billion, compared to Rs. 15.84 billion the prior year. The operating profit saw a substantial increase, reaching Rs. 7.02 billion from Rs. 4.87 billion. The profit for the year was reported at Rs. 5.65 billion, a significant rise from Rs. 3.18 billion in 2025.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the earnings per share surged to Rs. 24.26 from Rs. 13.65, marking a very large or significant move. The final tax applied amounted to Rs. 4,179 while minimum tax increased to Rs. 265.22 million. The comprehensive income for the year reached Rs. 5.57 billion, compared to Rs. 3.01 billion last year.
National Foods Limited disclosed that no bonus shares would be issued for the year. The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for October 26, 2026, at the Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi. Shareholders listed in the Register of Members by October 19, 2026, will be eligible for the dividend. The share transfer books will be closed from October 19 to October 26, 2026.
The company's financial position indicated a decrease in cash and cash equivalents, ending the year with a negative balance of Rs. 288 million compared to a positive Rs. 1.04 billion at the beginning. The cash flows from operating activities increased to Rs. 6.08 billion, while cash flows from investing and financing activities saw significant outflows, resulting in a net decrease in cash.
