Bannu Woollen Mills Reports Significant Financial Decline Amidst Increased Revenue

Rawalpindi: Bannu Woollen Mills Limited, a textile company listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, has released its financial results for the year ending June 30, 2026. The company reported an increase in sales but faced significant financial challenges, culminating in a comprehensive loss for the year.

On September 24, 2026, the Board of Directors held a meeting at Gammon House, Rawalpindi, where they announced no cash dividends, bonus shares, or right shares would be distributed. The company also reported no other entitlements or corporate actions. The financial statements were attached for shareholder review.

The company's Annual General Meeting is scheduled for October 23, 2026, at their registered office in Bannu. The register of members will remain closed from October 16 to October 23, ensuring transfers received by October 15 are eligible for voting rights at the meeting.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Bannu Woollen Mills reported total assets amounting to 4.16 billion rupees, up from 3.85 billion rupees in the previous year. This increase reflects a growing asset base, primarily due to property, plant, and equipment valuation adjustments.

Despite the rise in sales to 1.29 billion rupees from 968.56 million rupees, the company's financial position was adversely impacted by increased costs. The cost of sales rose to 959.21 million rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 335.73 million rupees, a moderate move from the previous year's 272.22 million rupees.

However, operational expenses, including distribution costs and administrative expenses, rose to 199.18 million rupees, while finance costs amounted to 52.19 million rupees. The share of loss from associated companies and impairment loss further exacerbated financial pressures, leading to a loss before tax of 111.32 million rupees.

Consequently, the company reported a net loss of 120.70 million rupees for the fiscal year, compared to a loss of 98.43 million rupees in the previous year. The loss per share increased to 12.70 rupees from 10.35 rupees, reflecting the company's ongoing financial strain.

Despite these challenges, the company recorded a substantial surplus from revaluation of property, plant, and equipment, amounting to 233.09 million rupees, and a revaluation surplus of freehold land of an associated company at 112.00 million rupees. These adjustments contributed to total comprehensive income of 319.71 million rupees, resulting in a total comprehensive loss of 199.01 million rupees, indicating a significant move from the previous year's figures.

Bannu Woollen Mills Limited operates within the textile sector, a key category in the designated market. The company's financial results reflect broader industry challenges, including fluctuating costs and market conditions, impacting overall profitability.
