Lahore: Sapphire Textile Mills Limited announced its financial results for the year ended June 30, 2026, revealing a notable increase in profit despite a decline in net turnover. The Board of Directors, meeting via video link from Lahore on September 24, 2026, recommended a final cash dividend of Rs.10 per share, adding to the interim dividend of the same amount already paid.
The annual report disclosed a decrease in net turnover to Rs.81.18 billion from Rs.93.26 billion the previous year. Despite this, the company achieved a gross profit of Rs.10.29 billion, down from Rs.12.73 billion. The profit from operations rose to Rs.12.79 billion, up from Rs.11.35 billion, largely due to a significant increase in other income, which totaled Rs.7.48 billion compared to Rs.3.43 billion in 2025.
Profit before tax was reported at Rs.8.06 billion, a significant improvement from the previous year's Rs.5.17 billion. After accounting for income tax expenses, the net profit for the year stood at Rs.6.82 billion, nearly doubling from Rs.3.95 billion last year. Earnings per share also saw a substantial increase to Rs.314.46 from Rs.182.16.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's financial performance reflects a strategic focus on optimizing operational efficiency and leveraging other income avenues. The distribution cost slightly decreased to Rs.3.29 billion, while administrative expenses rose to Rs.1.28 billion. Finance costs were reduced to Rs.3.45 billion from Rs.4.67 billion.
The reported comprehensive income for the year was Rs.10.64 billion, up from Rs.7.04 billion in 2025. Notable contributions to this figure included gains from re-measurement of foreign currency contracts and equity instruments, despite experiencing an exchange loss on foreign investments.
The upcoming Annual General Meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2026, in Karachi, with provisions for video conferencing.
