NBP Fund Management’s Islamic Energy Fund Reports Significant Increase in Income

Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited has released its annual report for the NBP Islamic Energy Fund, detailing substantial financial growth for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The report, released on October 1, 2026, highlights notable financial outcomes and reflects the fund's robust performance in the market.

According to the income statement, the fund's total income for the year amounted to 1.39 billion rupees, representing a Very large or significant move compared to the previous year's 1.06 billion rupees. This increase was driven primarily by a rise in dividend income, which surged to 225.33 million rupees from 138.33 million rupees in 2025, and a net realised gain on the sale of investments of 583.91 million rupees, up from 388.09 million rupees.

The fund also reported a net unrealised appreciation on the re-measurement of investments classified as 'financial assets at fair value through profit and loss' of 572.52 million rupees, compared to 516.66 million rupees in the previous year.

In terms of expenses, the report outlines a total of 227.55 million rupees, showing a Very large or significant move from last year's 136.65 million rupees. Key expenses included the remuneration of NBP Fund Management Limited, which increased to 162.14 million rupees from 77.99 million rupees. Sindh sales tax on remuneration to the management company also rose to 24.32 million rupees from 11.70 million rupees.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the NBP Islamic Energy Fund operates within the designated market category of energy sector investments, focusing on Islamic-compliant financial practices. The fund's net income for the year before taxation reached 1.16 billion rupees, up from 921.05 million rupees in the prior year, with no taxation applied in either period.

The net income for the year after taxation mirrored the pre-tax figure, standing at 1.16 billion rupees. The report further indicates that income already paid on units redeemed amounted to 842.69 million rupees, leaving an accounting income available for distribution, relating to capital gains, of 321.97 million rupees, compared to 451.47 million rupees in 2025.
