Karachi: Barkat Frisian Agro Limited, a key player in the agriculture sector, has released its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The announcement followed a board meeting on October 1, 2026, which was held both at the company's head office in Karachi and via video conferencing.
The financial statements for this period mark a significant milestone as the company has, for the first time, prepared consolidated financials following the establishment of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Barkat Frisian Agro Global L.L.C-FZ, in the United Arab Emirates. The subsidiary, however, has not commenced commercial operations and thus has not impacted the consolidated operating results materially.
According to the unconsolidated statement of financial position, the total equity and liabilities for the year stood at 4.99 billion Rupees, up from 3.84 billion Rupees in 2025. This growth is largely attributed to an increase in unappropriated profit, which rose to 2.07 billion Rupees from 1.43 billion Rupees. The company also saw a rise in deferred liabilities, reaching 175.99 million Rupees from 78.06 million Rupees in the previous year.
The unconsolidated statement of profit or loss indicates that net sales increased to 7.69 billion Rupees from 7.25 billion Rupees in 2025, resulting in a gross profit of 1.04 billion Rupees, compared to 977.82 million Rupees in the prior year. However, the net profit for the year decreased to 627.24 million Rupees from 741.69 million Rupees in 2025, reflecting a significant move in the company’s financial performance.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s earnings per share fell to 2.02 Rupees from 3.68 Rupees, indicating a very large or significant move in profitability on a per-share basis.
The company has scheduled its Annual General Meeting for October 28, 2026, in Karachi, with share transfer books set to close from October 21 to October 28, 2026. Further details, including the annual report, will be available through PUCARS at least 21 days before the meeting.
Barkat Frisian Agro Limited’s expansion into the UAE and the preparation of consolidated financial statements underscore its strategic growth ambitions, despite the current year's challenges reflected in its financial outcomes.
