Karachi: Pak Agro Packaging Limited released its financial statement for the year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a significant shift in its financial standing compared to the previous year. The company's profit decreased to 8,594,482 rupees, down from 31,934,608 rupees in 2025, as per the report dated October 6, 2026.
The company, categorized under the designated market of packaging and related services, witnessed a substantial increase in its total equity and liabilities, rising to 788.08 million rupees from 718.81 million rupees in the previous year. This indicates a very large move of 9.63%.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's non-current liabilities almost doubled, reaching 211.57 million rupees from 123.98 million rupees, driven by the new term finance of 62.46 million rupees and an increased lease liability of 79.44 million rupees. The deferred taxation also increased to 69.67 million rupees from 60.43 million rupees, classified as a moderate move.
The packaging firm recorded a rise in sales, reaching 947.11 million rupees from 858.69 million rupees, which marks a very large move of 10.28%. However, this was offset by a higher cost of sales, leading to a reduced gross profit of 86.11 million rupees, down from 119.56 million rupees, reflecting a significant move.
Operating profit also decreased to 50.88 million rupees from 93.12 million rupees. This decline was partly due to increased administrative expenses, which totaled 34.59 million rupees compared to 26.05 million rupees the previous year.
The company's current liabilities reduced to 127.18 million rupees from 150.90 million rupees, influenced by the absence of short-term bank borrowings this year, previously recorded at 79.01 million rupees, and a decrease in the provision for taxation to 15.78 million rupees from 21.41 million rupees.
Pak Agro Packaging Limited's basic and diluted earnings per share fell to 0.43 rupees, a substantial drop from 1.60 rupees in 2025, indicating a big move, potentially impacting shareholder sentiment. Despite increased sales, the rise in financial liabilities and expenses has exerted pressure on the company's profitability, highlighting challenges in managing operational costs and financial commitments.
