Karachi: OLP Financial Services Pakistan Limited has announced the candidates for its upcoming Board of Directors election, scheduled to be held during its 40th Annual General Meeting on October 22, 2026. The meeting is set to take place at iROOTS College, Wisdom Square Auditorium, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi, at 10:00 a.m.
The company has received notices from seven individuals who intend to contest the election for the Board of Directors. The candidates include Mr. Rashid Ahmed Jafer and Mr. Anwar Mansoor Khan, both vying for positions as independent directors. Additionally, Mr. Yoshiaki Matsuoka, Ms. Yoko Miura, Ms. Kotoko Sato, and Mr. Abdul Shakoor Shaikh have been nominated as non-executive directors, while Mr. Shaheen Amin is the sole candidate for an executive director position.
Under Section 159 of the Companies Act, 2017, the number of candidates matches the number of vacancies to be filled on the Board. Consequently, these seven individuals will automatically assume their roles as directors following the AGM.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this situation reflects a procedural election process where the candidates are deemed elected due to the absence of competition. The designated market category for the company is financial services, and the election is a regular corporate governance activity aimed at ensuring continuous oversight and strategic guidance for the company.
The upcoming AGM provides a platform for the election to be formalized, with the newly elected directors expected to contribute to the company's strategic direction and oversight in the coming years.
