DS Industries Reports Significant Drop in Annual Profit Amid Revenue Decline

Karachi: DS Industries Limited has reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a notable decrease in profit compared to the previous year. The company's profit after taxation fell to 1,441,334 rupees from 5,245,973 rupees in 2025, marking a very large or significant move of 72.52%.

The annual report, released on October 8, 2026, indicates that revenue from contracts with customers plummeted to 57,622 rupees from 3,782,537 rupees, a very large or significant move. This decline contributed to a gross loss of 8,355 rupees, compared to a gross loss of 110,079 rupees the prior year.

DS Industries, listed under the designated market category of industrials, experienced a reduction in administrative expenses, which decreased to 11,218,328 rupees from 12,843,244 rupees, reflecting efforts to streamline operations. However, the company faced new other expenses totaling 804,452 rupees, which were not present in the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the share of profit from associates rose significantly, reaching 13,782,198 rupees from 8,508,183 rupees, providing a substantial boost to the company's financial performance. Despite this, the operating loss widened to 3,106,026 rupees from 2,077,469 rupees.

The financial position of DS Industries showed a slight improvement in total equity, which increased to 190.48 million rupees from 189.04 million rupees. This change is attributed to a reduction in accumulated losses, which decreased to 580.82 million rupees from 582.26 million rupees.

Total liabilities decreased to 85.34 million rupees from 95.65 million rupees, primarily due to reductions in trade and other payables and short-term borrowings. Current assets fell to 97.24 million rupees from 110.44 million rupees, largely due to a significant decrease in bank balances, which dropped to 598,543 rupees from 64.98 million rupees.

DS Industries' earnings per share also declined to 0.02 rupees from 0.06 rupees, reflecting the overall dip in profitability. The company did not report any changes in authorized share capital, which remained at 1.00 billion rupees, or in issued, subscribed, and paid-up share capital, which held steady at 836.86 million rupees.

The report highlights the challenges faced by DS Industries in maintaining revenue streams while managing expenses, amid broader economic conditions affecting the industrial sector.
