Bawany Air Products Limited Reports Significant Financial Losses Amidst Declining Asset Values

Karachi: Bawany Air Products Limited, a key player in the industrial gases sector, has announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, highlighting a significant downturn in profitability. The company reported a total loss of 63,048,273 rupees for the year, as disclosed in its Forty Seventh Annual Report for 2025-2026, dated October 12, 2026.

The company's financial position reflected a contraction in both current and non-current assets. The total assets stood at 3.18 billion rupees, a slight decrease from the previous year's 3.18 billion rupees. Notably, there was a marked decline in trade and other receivables, which fell from 2.18 million rupees in 2025 to 946,323 rupees in 2026, indicating a big move.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Bawany Air Products Limited's equity structure also presented challenges. The accumulated loss widened significantly from 104.28 million rupees in 2025 to 167.33 million rupees in 2026, signaling financial distress. Despite this, the share capital remained constant at 75.03 million rupees, and share application money was unchanged at 3.20 billion rupees.

The company's liabilities painted a mixed picture. Non-current liabilities saw a very large or significant move, increasing from 11.60 million rupees to 72.78 million rupees. In contrast, current liabilities decreased from 5.37 million rupees in 2025 to 1.48 million rupees in 2026, demonstrating a big move.

In terms of profitability, Bawany Air Products faced a substantial loss in its financial operations. The total loss or income plummeted to a negative 43.92 million rupees from a modest positive income of 52,508 rupees in the previous year. This decline was fueled by a loss on sale and purchase of investments, which stood at 5.29 million rupees, coupled with brokerage and commission expenses amounting to 38.68 million rupees.

Despite a reduction in administrative expenses from 52.94 million rupees in 2025 to 13.69 million rupees in 2026, the overall expenses remained burdensome due to increased finance costs of 9.34 million rupees.

The company's statement of profit or loss further highlighted an absence of taxation and unrealized gains on investments, which saw a minor move from 51,034 rupees in the previous year to 51,698 rupees in 2026. The loss per share deteriorated from 7.20 rupees to 8.40 rupees, underscoring the financial pressures faced by the company.
