Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited has released its financial results for the Alhamra Wada Fund, covering the quarter that ended on September 30, 2026. The fund reported a very large decline in net income for the period, marking a significant move in its financial performance compared to the same quarter last year.

According to the financial report dated October 20, 2026, the Alhamra Wada Fund recorded a net income of Rs 20,521,000 for the quarter. This represents a stark contrast to the Rs 81,351,000 reported in the corresponding period of the previous year, indicating a very large decline. The report outlines the income generated from various sources, including a capital loss of Rs 308,000 on the sale of Government of Pakistan Ijara and income from Baimujjal amounting to Rs 21,193,000.

The fund's income from bank deposits showed a substantial decrease, recording Rs 46,000 this quarter against Rs 3,952,000 in the same quarter last year. Additionally, other income streams such as income from other placements and unrealized gains in fair value of investments did not contribute to this quarter's earnings. Operating expenses for the quarter were reported at Rs 410,000, a reduction from the Rs 2,050,000 incurred during the same period last year. The expenses included remuneration of MCB Investment Limited as the management company, Sindh sales tax on remuneration, trustee remuneration, and other fees.

The net income for the period after taxation stood at Rs 20,521,000, unchanged from the pre-tax figure as no taxation was applied. The report notes that there was no income already paid on units redeemed, maintaining the net income figure unchanged.

The financial results highlight the challenges faced by the Alhamra Wada Fund in generating comparable income levels to the previous year. The designated market category for the fund, which includes various investment avenues, reflected a significant impact on its overall performance this quarter.
