JS Investments Limited Reports Significant Changes in Financial Position and Profitability

Karachi: JS Investments Limited has released its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, revealing notable shifts in its asset management and profitability metrics. The report, dated October 22, 2026, outlines both an increase in total equity and a decrease in total liabilities compared to the previous year.

The company's total assets slightly decreased to 3.33 billion rupees from 3.36 billion rupees as of December 31, 2025. Non-current assets saw a reduction, largely due to a decline in investment in associates, which fell to 1.43 billion rupees from 1.88 billion rupees. Meanwhile, current assets rose to 1.13 billion rupees from 972.92 million rupees. This increase was driven by a notable rise in deposits, prepayments, and other receivables, which surged to 630.03 million rupees from 297.31 million rupees.

Equity and reserves experienced growth, climbing to 2.81 billion rupees from 2.59 billion rupees, attributed to an increase in unappropriated profit. Conversely, total liabilities decreased to 522.94 million rupees from 766.02 million rupees, with non-current liabilities dropping significantly.

Financial performance for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, showed a moderate move in net income, reaching 1.00 billion rupees, an increase from 803.71 million rupees in the same period of the previous year. The earnings per share for the period were reported at 3.42 rupees, down from 6.00 rupees the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), JS Investments' operating profit for the nine-month period reached 254.03 million rupees, up from 227.64 million rupees, reflecting a strong performance in fund management remuneration and returns on debt securities. The profit after taxation for the nine months was 210.56 million rupees, though it showed a decrease from 369.93 million rupees the previous year.

The company's financial charges reduced significantly, while other income increased, contributing positively to the overall financial results. However, the share of loss from associates impacted the profit before income and minimum taxes, which stood at 198.54 million rupees, a decline from 529.53 million rupees in the prior year.

JS Investments Limited's financial results illustrate a complex financial landscape, with improvements in certain areas contrasted by challenges in investment returns and associate performance.
