OGDCL Initiates Gas and Condensate Production at Bitrism East-1, Sindh

Khairpur: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced production at its Bitrism East-1 exploratory well, located in the Lower Goru Formation's Basal Sands of Sindh Province. According to a report dated October 22, 2026, the well has started producing 7.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 200 barrels of condensate daily.

The development follows OGDCL's earlier announcement on October 1, 2025, regarding the discovery of gas-condensate at the site. The company plans to progressively increase production as the well stabilizes. Utilizing its internal resources, OGDCL has implemented a strategy to accelerate the monetization of new discoveries by constructing a 28-kilometer, 8-inch diameter flowline. This infrastructure connects Bitrism East-1 to the Sinjhoro Plant for processing, subsequently supplying the processed gas to the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network, enhancing local gas availability.

Bitrism East-1, situated in District Khairpur, is operated by OGDCL, which holds a 77.5% working interest in the Bitrism Exploration Licence. The remaining 22.5% interest is held by Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL). According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the commencement of production at Bitrism East-1 aligns with OGDCL's strategic efforts to boost domestic hydrocarbon supply and fortify Pakistan's energy security.

This operational update is provided in accordance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations, ensuring the dissemination of significant information to market participants.
