Karachi: AL Habib Asset Management Limited has released its unaudited financial statements for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. The report, dated November 2, 2026, details the performance of various funds under its management, amid challenging market conditions characterized by inflationary pressures and geopolitical uncertainties.
The report highlights that the economy has shown signs of consolidation, with stronger external buffers and a gradual recovery in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors. However, inflation averaged 10.2% from July to September 2026, compared to 4.3% in the same period last year. This increase was primarily driven by rising global oil and staple food prices. Consequently, the Monetary Policy Committee maintained the Policy Rate at 11.5%, aiming to steer inflation towards the medium-term target of 5.0-7.0%.
The equity market faced headwinds due to elevated energy prices and regional geopolitical uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the KSE-100 Index's decline was limited to 5.7% during the quarter, aided by improving macroeconomic indicators and a sovereign rating upgrade.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the AL Habib Asset Management's funds showed varying performances. The AL Habib Cash Fund (AHCF) generated a net annualized return of 10.69%, with gross income amounting to Rs. 2,383.80 million. The AL Habib Money Market Fund (AHMMF) achieved a net annualized return of 10.66%, with a gross income of Rs. 2,121.98 million. Both funds were largely driven by income from government securities and bank deposits.
The AL Habib Islamic Cash Fund (AHICF) and the AL Habib Islamic Money Market Fund (AHIMMF) reported net annualized returns of 10.13% and 10.81%, respectively. The AL Habib Income Fund (AHIF) posted a net annualized return of 10.45%, while the AL Habib Government Securities Fund (AHGSF) achieved a return of 10.53%.
The AL Habib Asset Allocation Fund (AHAAF) and the AL Habib Stock Fund (AHSF) faced negative returns of 4.08% and 6.02%, respectively. The AL Habib Islamic Stock Fund (AHISF) experienced a negative return of 6.58%. These declines were attributed to capital losses on investments.
The report also noted new fund launches and maturity of existing plans. The AL Habib Fixed Return Fund launched Plan 33, Plan 34, and Plan 36, while Plan 23 and Plan 32 matured. New pension funds, including the AL Habib Punjab Pension Funds and AL Habib Balochistan Pension Funds, were introduced, with seed capital invested but disbursements yet to commence.
Overall, the report underscores the diversified performance of AL Habib's funds against a backdrop of economic challenges and market volatility. The management expressed gratitude to its stakeholders for their support and acknowledged the dedication of its team.
