Karachi: In its quarterly report for the nine months ending September 30, 2026, Octopus Digital Limited announced a significant increase in revenue despite recording a loss in profit after taxation. The report, released on November 2, 2026, detailed both consolidated and unconsolidated financial outcomes, highlighting the company's ongoing challenges and strategic focus.
The company's consolidated revenue reached 964.97 million rupees, marking a 29% increase from the previous year's 749.71 million rupees. However, consolidated profit before tax declined to 15.20 million rupees from 17.58 million rupees. The provision for taxation rose to 20.21 million rupees, resulting in a post-tax loss of 5.02 million rupees, compared to a previous profit of 5.02 million rupees. This represents a moderate move in the financial landscape of Octopus Digital Limited.
Unconsolidated results showed a revenue of 320.27 million rupees, an increase of 31% from 243.82 million rupees recorded in the same period last year. Despite the rise in revenue, the loss before tax narrowed to 6.26 million rupees from a previous loss of 35.90 million rupees. The provision for taxation increased to 20.21 million rupees from 5.65 million rupees, leading to a post-tax loss of 26.48 million rupees, an improvement from last year's loss of 41.55 million rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the consolidated basic earnings per share after tax stood at a loss of 0.03 rupees, a decline from the previous year's earnings of 0.03 rupees. The standalone basic loss per share improved to 0.17 rupees from the prior year's 0.26 rupees.
The company's management attributed the losses to increased administrative and selling expenses, exchange losses compared to gains in the previous year, and a slightly higher tax provision affecting the bottom line. Despite these challenges, the stability in Pakistan has led to strong order generation in the first nine months, with a focus on executing orders to maximize revenue amid a challenging Middle Eastern environment and strained supply chains.
Total order generation for the period amounted to approximately $7 million, primarily from long-term contracts expected to provide recurring monthly revenue. The management remains optimistic about expanding its footprint in new localities and streamlining costs to enhance profitability in the coming periods.
Octopus Digital Limited emphasized its commitment to effective communication with shareholders, ensuring timely dissemination of financial reports in accordance with the Companies Act of 2017. The company remains focused on leveraging its reliable services and expanding its customer base to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
