Adamjee Life Assurance Declares Interim Cash Dividend for Second Quarter 2026

Karachi: Adamjee Life Assurance Co. Ltd has announced an interim cash dividend for the second quarter ending June 30, 2026. The Board of Directors declared a 10% interim cash dividend, equivalent to Re. 1 per share of Rs. 10 each, during a meeting held on August 25, 2026. The announcement was made in a report dated September 4, 2026.

The entitlement for this dividend will be determined by the Share Transfer Books, which are scheduled to remain closed from September 7, 2026, to September 8, 2028. Any transfer requests received by the close of business on September 4, 2026, will be considered in time for this entitlement. These requests should be directed to the office of the company's Registrar, M/s. CDC Share Registrar Services Limited, located at CDC House on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi.

Shareholders are reminded to update their postal addresses with the company's Share Registrar promptly. Additionally, to comply with the Companies Act, 2017, and Companies (Distribution of Dividends) Regulation, 2017, shareholders must provide accurate and complete bank account details, including a valid IBAN, for the electronic disbursement of cash dividends.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), withholding tax will be deducted at a rate of 15% for shareholders listed as Active Taxpayers by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). For those not appearing on the Active Taxpayers List, a 30% withholding tax will be applied. Joint shareholders should inform the Share Registrar of their specific tax withholding ratios; otherwise, equal distribution will be assumed.

Shareholders with a valid tax exemption certificate under Section 150 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, must provide a copy by September 4, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the deduction of withholding tax as per standard rates.

Adamjee Life Assurance also requests shareholders to claim any unclaimed or unpaid dividends in accordance with Section 244 of the Companies Act 2017. Claims should be lodged with the company's Share Registrar and Transfer Agent.

Furthermore, the Central Depository Company (CDC) has implemented a Centralized Cash Dividend Register (CCDR), an e-Services web portal containing details of cash dividends paid, unpaid, or withheld by listed companies. Shareholders can access this portal to retrieve dividend details for their records. The web portal is available at https://csp.cdcaccess.com.pk, and additional reports can be obtained from stock brokers or via email as provided by shareholders.
