AKD Securities Limited to Lead Consortium in GEPCO Privatization Bid

Karachi: AKD Securities Limited has announced its participation in a consortium aiming to acquire Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) through privatization. According to a report dated August 24, 2026, the Board of Directors of AKD Securities Limited has approved its involvement in the consortium, which also includes Fast Cables Limited, AJCL (Private) Limited, and Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Limited.

The consortium has appointed AKD Securities Limited as the Lead Consortium Member, granting it authority to manage all activities related to the privatization process. This designation allows AKD Securities, through its Authorized Representative, to conduct business on behalf of the consortium, with the ability to further delegate responsibilities as necessary.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), AKD Securities Limited's engagement in the transaction is currently not bound by any obligations. The process remains contingent on the pre-qualification by the Privatization Commission and the acquisition of necessary corporate and regulatory approvals.
