Karachi: Allied Bank Limited has declared its second interim cash dividend for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, at a rate of 40%, equivalent to Rs. 4.00 per share. The announcement was made following a board meeting held on August 21, 2025. The bank has also outlined important dates and requirements for shareholders to ensure they receive their entitled dividends.
The closure of share transfer books has been scheduled from September 02 to September 04, 2025. Share transfer requests submitted by the close of business on September 01, 2025, will be considered timely for determining entitlement. Shareholders have been urged to update their registered addresses with the bank's share registrar, CDC Share Registrar Services Limited, based in Karachi, to avoid any discrepancies.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Allied Bank Limited has emphasized the necessity for shareholders holding physical shares to convert them into book-entry form. This directive adheres to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan's requirement under Section 72 of the Companies Act, 2017.
The bank has also taken measures to comply with the Companies Act, 2017, and the Companies (Distribution of Dividends) Regulations, 2017, by withholding dividends from shareholders who have not provided their CNICs and up-to-date banking details, including a valid IBAN. Shareholders are encouraged to submit the necessary documentation to the bank's share registrar to claim any withheld dividends.
For tax purposes, withholding tax will be deducted based on the Federal Board of Revenue's Active Taxpayers List. A rate of 15% applies to persons on the list, while those not listed will face a 30% deduction. Joint shareholders will have tax deducted according to their respective share ratio unless otherwise specified.
Entities seeking tax exemption must present a valid exemption certificate or a certified true copy of a court stay order by September 01, 2025, to avoid withholding tax deductions. Additionally, Allied Bank has initiated procedures for shareholders to claim any unclaimed or unpaid dividends and share certificates in compliance with Section 244 of the Companies Act, 2017.
The Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited has developed an e-Services web portal, the Centralized Cash Dividend Register (CCDR), to provide shareholders with comprehensive details of cash dividends paid, unpaid, or withheld by listed companies. This tool aims to assist shareholders in maintaining records of their dividend history and facilitate easy access to dividend information.
