Karachi: Arpak International Investments Ltd. released its financial results for the quarter and half year ending on December 31, 2024, following a board meeting on February 25, 2025. The results highlight variations in income, expenses, and profits compared to the previous year.
For the quarter ending December 31, 2024, Arpak International reported an income of 2.96 million rupees. This reflects a decrease from the 5.99 million rupees reported for the same period in 2023. Operating and general expenses were listed at 4.77 million rupees, an increase from 4.06 million rupees in the previous year. This shift resulted in an operating loss of 1.81 million rupees, compared to a profit of 1.93 million rupees for the same quarter in 2023.
The company's six-month period results showed an income of 6.20 million rupees, down from 12.08 million rupees in the previous year. Operating and general expenses for this period increased to 7.95 million rupees from 7.06 million rupees. Consequently, the operating loss recorded was 1.74 million rupees, a significant drop from the profit of 5.02 million rupees in the same period of the previous year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Arpak International's share of loss from an associated company net of taxation was 28.71 million rupees for the quarter, reversing from a profit of 79.88 million rupees in the prior year. For the six-month period, the loss was 227.58 million rupees compared to a profit of 59.82 million rupees in 2023. Additionally, there was a reversal of 29.59 million rupees made for impairment in investment for the quarter, contrasting with a provision of 291.83 million rupees in 2023.
The loss before taxation was recorded at 923,048 rupees for the quarter, a significant improvement from the 210.21 million rupees loss in 2023. For the six-month period, the loss before taxation was 51.59 million rupees, compared to 219.58 million rupees in the previous year. After accounting for taxation, the profit after taxation for the quarter was 928,538 rupees, an improvement from the 177,418 rupees loss in the prior year. For the six-month period ending December 31, 2024, the company reported a profit of 496,751 rupees, reversing from a loss of 622,111 rupees in 2023.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at 0.0014 rupees, compared to a loss of 52.5968 rupees in the prior year. For the half year, earnings per share were reported at a loss of 12.7740 rupees, compared to a loss of 55.0504 rupees in 2023.
The company plans to submit its condensed interim financial statement electronically through PUCARS, adhering to PSX Notice No. PSX/N-5036, dated September 03, 2018.
