Askari Bank Announces Loss of Share Certificates of Deceased Shareholder

Karachi: Askari Bank Limited has reported the loss of share certificates belonging to the late Chaudhry Ataullah Bhatti, a deceased shareholder. A total of 1,576 shares have been declared lost or misplaced, with the bank now issuing a notification to prevent any unauthorized transactions involving these certificates.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the lost certificates include two distinct series from scrip numbers 804145 and 814913, with distinctive numbers ranging from 70974914 to 1262765259. The bank has taken immediate steps to address the situation by alerting the PSX and its members, advising them not to deal in these shares.

The notification specifies a seven-day window during which objections to the issuance of duplicate certificates can be filed. If no objections are received within this period, the bank will proceed with issuing duplicates to the rightful heirs or representatives of Mr. Bhatti's estate.

This proactive measure by Askari Bank underscores the importance of maintaining strict controls over share certificates and promptly addressing potential issues to protect shareholder interests and the integrity of market operations.
