Askari Bank Reports Loss of Share Certificates

Karachi: In a recent notification issued to its stakeholders, Askari Bank Limited (AKBL) has reported the loss or misplacement of several share certificates belonging to a deceased shareholder, Wali Mohammad. The bank, a prominent financial institution in Pakistan, outlined the details of the missing documents, which encompass a total of 12 shares across multiple certificates.

According to the bank's statement, the lost certificates include numbers from 747707 to 814478, with varying amounts of shares ranging from one to three per certificate. These shares were registered under folio number 24173. The bank has urged the members of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to refrain from dealing with these shares until further notice.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), such incidents necessitate a cautionary halt in trading to prevent fraudulent transactions. The bank has stated that if no objections are raised within seven days regarding the misplaced certificates, duplicate certificates will be issued to the concerned shareholder's estate.
