Karachi: Atlas Battery Limited has disclosed its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, revealing a significant downturn in its financial performance compared to the same period last year. The company reported a substantial loss after taxation of Rupees 336,128,000, a stark contrast to a profit of Rupees 50,456,000 recorded in the previous year’s corresponding quarter. This development was detailed in the company’s financial report dated October 20, 2026.
The financial statements indicate a notable decline in total assets, which now stand at Rupees 21,110.39 million, down from Rupees 22,118.99 million as of June 30, 2026. The reduction in assets is primarily attributed to a decrease in both non-current and current assets, particularly in stock-in-trade and trade debts.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Atlas Battery's revenue reserves fell from Rupees 6,336.27 million to Rupees 6,000.14 million, reflecting a decrease in un-appropriated profits. The company's total equity decreased to Rupees 7,199.90 million from Rupees 7,536.03 million in the previous quarter.
The firm’s net sales for the quarter amounted to Rupees 8,087.60 million, a decrease from Rupees 8,475.85 million in the same quarter of 2025. This decline in sales, coupled with a cost of sales of Rupees 7,507.27 million, resulted in a reduced gross profit of Rupees 580.33 million, down from Rupees 882.31 million, representing a big move in profitability.
The financial results also highlighted an increase in finance costs to Rupees 278.98 million from Rupees 220.71 million, further contributing to the loss before income tax, which amounted to Rupees 348.63 million compared to a near breakeven point in the previous year. Administrative expenses saw a minor reduction, while distribution costs remained relatively stable.
In summary, Atlas Battery Limited has faced a challenging quarter, with declines across various financial metrics and a significant operational loss. The company’s financial position reflects the pressures it faces in the current market environment, underscored by the significant move in its earnings performance.
