Baluchistan Glass Limited Reports Increased Losses Amidst Zero Sales

Karachi: Baluchistan Glass Limited has reported its financial results for the first quarter ending September 30, 2026, revealing a significant financial downturn. The company, which operates within the designated market category of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), disclosed a complete absence of sales during this period, a stark contrast to the 13,979,000 rupees in net sales recorded for the same quarter in the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company experienced an operating loss of 60.83 million rupees for the quarter, compared to a loss of 74.90 million rupees in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Despite a reduction in the cost of sales to 56.06 million rupees from 84.46 million rupees, the absence of revenue resulted in a gross loss equal to the cost of sales.

Finance costs increased to 57.01 million rupees from 51.61 million rupees. This escalation contributed to a loss before levies and income tax of 117.85 million rupees, compared to 126.50 million rupees in the previous year. The absence of levies this quarter, compared to 175,000 rupees last year, did not offset the financial strain, resulting in a loss before income tax of 117.85 million rupees.

The loss for the period was recorded at 116.25 million rupees, a minor improvement from the 124.93 million rupees reported in the first quarter of 2025. Loss per share decreased to 0.18 rupees from 0.20 rupees, indicating a minor move in the company’s financial performance.

On the balance sheet, the company’s total equity and liabilities were reported at 3.56 billion rupees as of September 30, 2026, a decrease from 3.61 billion rupees on June 30, 2026. This change was largely driven by an increase in accumulated losses, which rose to 7.92 billion rupees from 7.81 billion rupees, and an increase in short-term borrowings to 1.53 billion rupees from 1.51 billion rupees.

Baluchistan Glass Limited continues to face significant financial challenges, as evidenced by its ongoing operational losses and mounting liabilities. The lack of sales in the first quarter signifies a critical period for the company as it navigates through its financial difficulties.
