Karachi, BankIslami Pakistan Limited has revealed a significant change in its leadership structure. The bank's current President & Chief Executive Officer, Syed Amir Ali, has decided not to seek reappointment upon the conclusion of his current term of employment on September 28, 2023.
The decision was made public through a letter, numbered #100.2.706, dated July 10, 2023, which was published on the PUCARS system. Mr. Amir Ali's impending departure has prompted the bank's Board of Directors to take action to ensure a seamless transition.
During a meeting held on July 25, 2023, the Board of Directors appointed Mr. Rizwan Ata as the Deputy CEO of BankIslami Pakistan Limited, effective immediately from July 25, 2023. It has been determined that after the conclusion of the current CEO's term, Mr. Ata will step into the role of President & CEO of the bank, commencing on September 29, 2023. This appointment is set for a duration of three years, as specified by the Board.
It's important to note that Mr. Rizwan Ata's appointment is contingent upon receiving the necessary clearance from the State Bank of Pakistan, specifically the FPT clearance.
Mr. Rizwan Ata is a highly experienced professional in the field of Islamic banking, boasting over two decades of expertise. Currently serving as the Group Head of Distribution at BankIslami Pakistan Limited, he is well-equipped to lead the bank into the future and continue its mission of providing innovative and reliable Islamic banking services to its customers.
