Bela Automotives Limited Faces Regulatory Scrutiny for Non-Compliance with PSX Regulations

Karachi: Bela Automotives Limited has been formally notified by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of its non-compliance with PSX Regulation 5.11.1.(d), as per a document dated October 11, 2024. The automotive company has been given until November 11, 2024, to address its outstanding dues or face stringent regulatory actions.

The notice follows an earlier warning issued on August 13, 2024, highlighting Bela’s failure to pay the penalty required by the PSX. This unresolved issue could lead to significant repercussions, including the possibility of Bela being listed on the PSX’s Defaulters’ Segment, which may soon be renamed as the ‘Winding-Up Segment.’

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the potential consequences for Bela Automotives include a suspension of commercial operations and adverse opinions in its statutory audit reports. These measures emphasize the Exchange’s commitment to enforcing its regulations strictly and maintaining market integrity.

The notification was addressed to various stakeholders including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), central depository companies, and national clearing entities, ensuring widespread awareness of the regulatory stance and Bela’s current standing in the market.

Should Bela Automotives fail to rectify its financial obligations within the given deadline, the PSX is prepared to issue a Risk Warning Alert against the company, further escalating the enforcement actions.
