BF Biosciences Reports Sharp Rise in Quarterly Profit Amid Increased Revenue

Karachi: BF Biosciences Limited released its condensed interim statement of profit or loss for the period ended September 30, 2024, showcasing significant financial growth compared to the previous year.

On September 30, 2024, BF Biosciences announced a net revenue of PKR 1.39 billion, a notable increase from the PKR 965.00 million recorded on the same date in 2023. This rise in revenue marks a pivotal development for the company, driven by enhanced operational efficiencies and market expansions.

The cost of goods sold also rose to PKR 823.00 million from PKR 586.00 million over the year, indicating an increase in production activities correlating with higher sales volume. Despite the higher costs, gross profit surged to PKR 564.00 million from PKR 378.00 million due to the substantial revenue growth.

Administrative expenses and selling and distribution expenses together accounted for PKR 317.00 million, up from the previous year's total of PKR 185.00 million, reflecting the company's increased investment in its operational framework and market reach.

Other income for the period was reported at PKR 2.40 million, a significant decrease from PKR 30.00 million in the prior year, primarily due to a reduction in non-core business income streams.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the operational profit was significantly impacted by the lower finance costs, which dropped to PKR 35.00 million from PKR 41.00 million, easing the financial burden on the company's profit margins.

After accounting for income taxes and other statutory deductions, BF Biosciences reported a profit after taxation of PKR 115.27 million, a 14.36% increase from the PKR 100.77 million achieved last year. This result positively impacted the earnings per share, which escalated from PKR 1.59 to PKR 1.82, offering a more attractive return to the company's shareholders.

This performance underscores BF Biosciences' continued resilience and strategic planning in navigating market dynamics and leveraging its core competencies to sustain profitability and shareholder value.
