Bhanero Textile Mills Limited Announces Virtual Corporate Briefing Session Amid Financial Recovery

Karachi: Bhanero Textile Mills Limited (BTM), a key entity under the Umer Group of Companies, has announced a Corporate Briefing Session (CBS) scheduled to take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 3:00 pm. The session will be held virtually via Zoom, allowing analysts, shareholders, and the investor community to engage with the company's management.

Founded in 1980, BTM has been a cornerstone of the Umer Group, which operates across various sectors including textiles, footwear, real estate, dairy, and sugar. BTM reported a profit after tax of PKR 114,229,053 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, marking a turnaround from a loss of PKR 131,761,151 in the previous year. The company's recovery is notable against a backdrop of stagnant sales, recorded at PKR 32.91 billion in 2025 compared to PKR 33.06 billion in 2024.

The Umer Group, which includes entities like Faisal Spinning Mills Ltd and Blessed Textiles Ltd, witnessed a collective after-tax loss of PKR 251.92 million for the year ending June 2025, against a sales revenue of PKR 109.54 billion. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the group reported a sales-related loss of -0.23 percent, a significant move from the -2.93 percent loss reported in the prior fiscal year.

This subpar performance has been attributed to several challenges, including high interest rates, international market volatility, weak export demand, and elevated energy costs. The company's energy expenses accounted for 11 percent of total sales costs, consistent with the previous year. Despite these challenges, the board has taken proactive steps to stabilize operations, including investing approximately PKR 850 million in solar energy projects.

BTM's spinning units, equipped with 225,600 spindles, and weaving units with 567 looms, remain integral to the group's textile operations. The company's gross profit for the year was PKR 2.59 billion, down from PKR 3.03 billion in 2024, reflecting a gross profit margin of 7.86 percent.

The upcoming virtual briefing aims to update stakeholders on the economic environment and BTM's strategic initiatives, particularly in light of easing inflation and policy rates that are expected to improve margins and competitiveness. The event underscores BTM's commitment to transparency and stakeholder engagement as it navigates the evolving market landscape.
