Biafo Industries Limited Reports Big Move in Profit and Comprehensive Income for FY 2026

Islamabad: Biafo Industries Limited has reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a notable shift in profit and comprehensive income figures. The company's profit for the year stood at Rs. 388,935,933, showing a marginal decrease from the previous year's figure of Rs. 389,489,921, a minor move of -0.14%.

The comprehensive income for the year also experienced a shift, amounting to Rs. 408,176,860 compared to Rs. 449,594,902 in the previous fiscal year. This represents a significant move of -9.21%. The decline in comprehensive income was primarily attributed to the revaluation of property, plant, and equipment, which was reported at Rs. 25,638,980, down from Rs. 62,828,138, alongside adjustments for the remeasurement of the defined benefit plan and associated tax effects.

Financial statements revealed a balance at the start of the fiscal year 2025 of Rs. 3.21 billion, increasing to Rs. 3.34 billion by June 30, 2026. This increase in equity was driven by the profit for the year and adjustments from the revaluation surplus on property and equipment, net of tax.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Biafo Industries Limited, classified under the designated market category of industrials, has maintained a stable performance in terms of operating cash flows. The net cash generated from operating activities rose significantly to Rs. 735.55 million for the year, compared to a negative cash flow of Rs. 30.62 million in the previous year. This improvement was achieved despite an increased payment of dividends at Rs. 3.50 per share and Rs. 2.50 per share for the final and interim cash dividends of 2025 and 2026, respectively.

The company's investing activities reported a net cash inflow of Rs. 7.42 million for the fiscal year, contrasting with an outflow of Rs. 36.89 million in the prior year. This positive cash flow from investing activities was largely due to the disposal and purchase of investments, proceeds from the sale of property, plant and equipment, and dividends received.

Biafo Industries' financial position and cash flows highlight the company's strategic financial management and investment decisions that have contributed to its overall performance in the fiscal year 2026.
