Lahore: Big Bird Foods Limited (BBFL) has announced a major expansion in its export business, securing a significant order from a Gulf-based halal food company. The order, which was disclosed in a report dated July 16, 2026, is expected to approximately double the company's current export volumes. This development is anticipated to add an additional PKR 1.20 billion in annual revenues.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Big Bird Foods Limited's new contract represents a strategic advancement in its growth agenda, leveraging the increasing global appetite for premium halal poultry products. The global halal food market, valued at over US$900 billion annually, is forecast to escalate to beyond US$1.4 trillion by 2034, underscoring substantial long-term opportunities for producers like BBFL with compliant processing facilities.
The expansion aligns with Pakistan's optimistic outlook on meat exports, projected to surpass US$500 million in FY26. This places the country in a favorable position to enhance its export presence. BBFL's recent deal is expected to contribute to higher foreign exchange earnings and a diversified revenue stream, solidifying its standing within the international halal food market. The management remains positive about the potential for continued growth as global demand for halal products rises.
