Lahore: Crescent Fibres Limited presented its financial results for the first quarter ending September 30, 2025, revealing a notable downturn in performance. The results, discussed at the Board of Directors meeting on October 31, 2025, indicated that the company faced a significant loss during this period.
For the quarter, Crescent Fibres reported a net sales figure of 1.01 billion rupees, a decrease from the previous year’s 1.55 billion rupees. The cost of sales surpassed the net sales, totaling 1.02 billion rupees, resulting in a gross loss of 7.96 million rupees compared to a profit of 19.95 million rupees in the corresponding quarter of 2024.
The company’s operating loss amounted to 37.64 million rupees, a significant increase from the 16.31 million rupees reported in the same quarter last year. Financial charges for the period were 37.15 million rupees, contributing to a loss before taxation and levy of 74.79 million rupees. After accounting for a levy of 12.76 million rupees, the loss before taxation stood at 87.55 million rupees. The overall loss for the period was 77.90 million rupees, compared to a loss of 96.52 million rupees in the previous year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s equity and liabilities totaled 6.79 billion rupees as of September 30, 2025. This includes 2.65 billion rupees in non-current assets and 1.60 billion rupees in current assets. Additionally, assets classified as held for sale were valued at 2.54 billion rupees.
The balance sheet also reflected authorized share capital of 150 million rupees and issued, subscribed, and paid-up capital of 124.18 million rupees. Capital reserves were reported at 2.92 billion rupees, with revenue reserves amounting to 945.14 million rupees. Non-current liabilities were 545.06 million rupees, while current liabilities stood at 2.26 billion rupees.
The company’s cash flow statement showed a net cash outflow from operating activities of 75.42 million rupees. Investing activities resulted in a net cash inflow of 4.06 million rupees, and financing activities generated 49.60 million rupees in net cash. The company concluded the quarter with cash and bank balances of 20.18 million rupees.
Crescent Fibres Limited did not announce any cash dividends, bonus shares, or right shares for the first quarter. The comprehensive loss for the period, adjusted for revaluation of property, plant, and equipment, showed a total comprehensive gain of 764.99 million rupees, primarily attributed to a surplus on revaluation of property, plant, and equipment amounting to 838.48 million rupees.
