Karachi: Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited has expanded its engagement in the K-IV water supply project for Greater Karachi by securing an additional order worth PKR 2.71 billion. The company announced today that it will supply an extra 65,000 meters of coated steel line pipes, significantly increasing the total contract value to PKR 8.595 billion.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the revised contract with the China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) - Al-Fajr International (AFI) Joint Venture will include the manufacturing and supply of the additional pipes using Hot Rolled Coils provided by the client. The initial order was valued at PKR 5.886 billion.

Manufacturing of the additional pipes is slated to begin in the second quarter of the current financial year and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of the following year. While the scheduling and certain other terms are still being finalized, the substantial increase in order volume underscores the project's scale and Crescent Steel's pivotal role in it.

The K-IV project, formally known as the Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme, is designed to substantially enhance the water supply infrastructure of Pakistan's largest city, addressing long-standing water scarcity issues.
