Lahore: The D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited held its board meeting on October 17, 2024, to discuss the financial results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2024. The meeting, conducted at Lahore, revealed that the company would not be issuing any dividends, bonus issues, rights shares, or engaging in any other corporate actions at this time.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the financial performance of D.G. Khan Cement highlighted a solid quarter with significant increases in profit compared to the previous year. For the quarter ending September 2024, the company reported a net profit of PKR 804.12 million, up from PKR 660.56 million during the same period in 2023. This growth is reflected in the earnings per share, which increased from PKR 1.51 to PKR 1.84.
Revenue for the period stood at PKR 15.30 billion, slightly decreased from PKR 16.52 billion in 2023. Despite this, the company managed to maintain a lower cost of sales, which helped in achieving a higher gross profit of PKR 2.99 billion compared to PKR 3.21 billion the previous year.
Administrative expenses were contained, and selling and distribution expenses were significantly reduced, contributing to the profitability. The company also reported other income of PKR 1.04 billion, an increase from PKR 826.51 million in 2023, which included earnings from various non-core business activities.
D.G. Khan Cement’s financial disclosures will be transmitted through PUCARS, ensuring transparency and regular updates to TRE Certificate Holders and other stakeholders.
