Dandot Cement’s Share Volume Surge Linked to Recent Issuance

Karachi: Dandot Cement Company Limited has addressed the recent unusual movement in its share volume, attributing it to a recent issuance of shares. The company, in a detailed report dated October 21, 2026, explained the circumstances surrounding the issuance of 70,735,574 ordinary shares to its holding company, Calicom Industries (Private) Limited.

This issuance was executed against an outstanding interest-free loan recorded in Dandot Cement's financial books. Notably, the shares were allocated not as part of a right issue, but through a separate issuance on September 14, 2026. This action was facilitated by the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited.

The approval for this share issuance was granted by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, as stated in their letter dated August 27, 2026. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this development has led to a significant increase in the trading volume of Dandot Cement Company Limited shares.

Market analysts have been closely monitoring the situation, noting the strategic financial restructuring move by Dandot Cement. The company's decision to clear its interest-free loan through share issuance reflects a broader trend in corporate finance management within the designated market category.
