Karachi: The temporary suspension of trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has been extended until 12:25 pm today, following a fire incident on a floor of the stock exchange building. The decision aims to ensure a smooth reopening of the market.
This extension follows the initial suspension detailed in PSX Notice No.PSX/N-629 dated July 8, 2024, which was put in place after a fire broke out in a brokerage firm's office within the PSX building. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the situation is now under control, and staff from the brokerage firms have begun to return to their premises.
The extension allows additional time to prepare the facilities and systems to resume trading securely and efficiently. PSX has communicated to all concerned parties to note the revised timing as efforts continue to restore full functionality and ensure the safety and security of the trading environment.
