Karachi: Famco Share Registration Services (Pvt) Limited has issued multiple notices regarding the loss of share certificates for two prominent companies, according to details released by the firm. The losses, documented over a period starting March 11, 2024, involve significant numbers of shares and have not yet seen the required notices from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited reported two instances of lost share certificates first noticed in March 2024. According to the submissions, certificates for folios 3951 and 3958 containing a total of 500 shares were lost. Rashid Mehmood Asghar of Multan holds these shares. Despite notifications sent to PSX, there has been no confirmation of receipt regarding these losses as of today.
In another case reported on August 6, 2024, The Hub Power Company Limited also announced the loss of share certificates belonging to Ghazala Shahin from Karachi. The lost certificates encompass five separate entries, each for 100 shares, totaling 500 shares. The distinctive numbers and certificate details have been shared with PSX members, with an advisory against dealing in these certificates pending the resolution of any objections.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), if no objections are raised within 7 days of the notice’s publication, Famco will proceed with the issuance of duplicate certificates to the shareholders. This step is standard procedure to mitigate the impact on shareholders and maintain orderly market conduct.
Famco has urged all PSX members to heed the notices and refrain from any transactions involving these specific share certificates until further notice. The firm has also provided photocopies of the relevant correspondence to assist in the verification and handling of these cases.
