Fauji Cement Company Reschedules AGM Due to SCO Summit in Islamabad

Rawalpindi: Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) has announced the rescheduling of its 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) originally set for October 14, 2024. The meeting will now take place on October 18, 2024, at Rawalpindi.

The rescheduling comes in response to the Government of Pakistan's declaration of October 14, 15, and 16 as public holidays in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Rawalpindi district to accommodate the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government summit. The summit's security measures and anticipated restrictions on movement and internet connectivity have prompted the change to ensure all shareholders can participate effectively, either in person or virtually.

The AGM agenda includes confirming the minutes of the previous meeting held on October 27, 2023, adopting the audited financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024, and approving a final cash dividend of 10 percent, equivalent to Rs. 1 per share. Additionally, the meeting will address the appointment and remuneration of statutory auditors for the upcoming fiscal year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision reflects FCCL's commitment to shareholder accessibility and compliance with regulatory requirements amidst significant events like the SCO summit. The company's proactive measures aim to mitigate any inconvenience and facilitate robust shareholder participation in the AGM's proceedings.

This rescheduling highlights the broader impacts of international events on local businesses and emphasizes the importance of flexible corporate planning in response to geopolitical and security developments. The AGM's outcomes, particularly financial approvals and dividends, are crucial for shareholders and the company's strategic direction moving forward.
