Karachi: Ghandhara Tyre and Rubber Company Limited has temporarily suspended operations at its main production facility due to an unexpected disruption in power supply, the company announced on 11 October 2024. The shutdown, attributed to a fault in power supply cables, is set to commence on October 14, 2024, to allow for necessary corrective actions.
The temporary halt follows compliance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations, ensuring full transparency and regulatory adherence in reporting operational setbacks. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company has filed the requisite disclosures, outlining the steps being taken to address the issue and mitigate any potential impact.
Despite the disruption, Ghandhara Tyre and Rubber assures that this temporary closure will not adversely affect its sales, as all regional offices will remain operational. This strategy is intended to maintain uninterrupted supply chains and customer service during the plant’s downtime.
As part of the compliance process, the company has also issued formal notices to TRE Certificate holders, keeping them informed about the current status and the measures being implemented. The production halt is viewed as a necessary step to ensure long-term operational efficiency and safety.
