Lahore: Ghani ChemWorld Limited (GCWL) has announced that the upcoming election for the company’s Board of Directors will be uncontested, as the number of candidates matches the number of positions available. This information follows the notification for the 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company, scheduled for October 28, 2025, at its registered office in Model Town.
The company disclosed that those vying for the director positions include Mrs. Saira Farooq, who is the sole candidate for the female director position. For the independent director roles, Hafiz Imran Lateef and Mr. Mahmood Ahmad have submitted their candidacies. The other director positions see interest from Mr. Masroor Ahmad Khan, Mr. Atique Ahmad Khan, Hafiz Farooq Ahmad, and Ms. Hafsa Masroor.

The selection of independent directors has been carried out in accordance with Section 166 of the Companies Act, 2017, ensuring compliance with the necessary regulations concerning experience, competencies, skills, and diversity.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the announcement of the uncontested election is aligned with the stipulations of Section 159 (1) of the Companies Act, 2017. Consequently, the candidates listed will automatically assume their respective roles as directors following the AGM.
