GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited Announces First Quarter Financial Results for 2024

Karachi, GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited reported its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2024, showing an increase in profitability despite no new dividends or shares issued.

In a board meeting held on April 26, 2024, in Karachi the company confirmed that there would be no issuance of cash dividends, bonus shares, right shares, or any other corporate actions. The detailed financial outcomes illustrated that the company generated a revenue of Rs. 15,616,126,000 during the period, compared to Rs. 11,399,120,000 in the same quarter of the previous year.

The cost of sales was noted at Rs. 13,347,268,000, leading to a gross profit of Rs. 2,268,858,000. Operational costs, including selling, marketing, distribution, and administrative expenses totaled Rs. 1,644,870,000. Despite these expenditures, the company's operational profit stood at Rs. 1,010,363,000, significantly higher than the Rs. 1,351,587,000 reported last year.

After accounting for financial charges and taxation, GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited's profit after taxation amounted to Rs. 565,281,000, up from Rs. 430,562,000 in the prior year. The earnings per share also increased from Rs. 1.35 to Rs. 1.78.
