Karachi: The GoP Ijarah Sukuk (GIS) with the maturity date of January 22, 2025, has been officially de-listed from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) following the completion of its maturity payment process. On January 22, 2025, the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) made the final payment to all eligible investors, marking the end of this particular security's lifecycle. As a result, the 1 Year GIS Discounted Maturity, designated as P01GIS220125, is no longer outstanding and has been removed from the market effective January 23, 2025.
The delisting was executed in compliance with the joint secondary market procedures set forth by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Central Depository Company (CDC), and the NCCPL. This process was first intimated to market participants through PSX Notice# PSX/N-069, dated January 13, 2025, which announced the suspension of trading in the GIS due to its impending maturity payment.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the de-listing of the GoP Ijarah Sukuk is a standard procedure following the maturity and settlement of payments to investors. This ensures that all securities traded on the exchange are up-to-date and reflect only those instruments that are actively available for trading.
Market participants had been duly informed about the maturity and subsequent delisting, ensuring transparency and proper communication in the financial market. This step is part of the designated market category procedures that maintain the integrity and efficiency of the trading environment on the PSX. As the GIS has now been settled and removed from the trading platform, investors and market analysts will be looking to the next financial instruments that will take its place in the market landscape.
