Gulistan Textile Mills Reports Substantial Financial Turnaround in 2024

Karachi: Gulistan Textile Mills Limited revealed a significant financial turnaround in its recent year-end results, showcasing a dramatic recovery from previous fiscal challenges. On October 5, 2024, the company announced its financial outcomes for the year ended June 30, 2024, which included a remarkable increase in post-tax profits to 735.25 million rupees compared to 226.77 million rupees the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Gulistan Textile Mills has managed to reverse its fortunes despite the previous year's heavy losses. The company reported an earnings per share increase to 38.73 rupees, up from just 1.95 rupees last year. This reflects an improved operational efficiency and cost management that effectively countered the preceding financial turbulence.

In 2024, the company's sales figures were not disclosed, but the cost of sales and operational expenses showed significant adjustments. Administrative expenses were reduced to 9.31 million rupees from 11.05 million rupees in 2023. This reduction, coupled with a strategic realignment of business operations, has evidently bolstered the company's financial health.

The financial disclosures also noted the absence of any dividends, bonus shares, or rights shares, aligning with the company's strategic focus on stabilizing its financial standing and supporting growth through reinvestment. This financial prudence appears to be a key component of the company's current fiscal strategy.

Gulistan Textile Mills' comeback story is not only a sign of resilient management but also indicative of a broader recovery in the local textile sector, driven by favorable market conditions and strategic internal adjustments. The company has successfully navigated past its arrangement with creditors, sanctioned by the Sindh High Court Karachi, moving towards a more sustainable financial pathway.
