Karachi: Hascol Petroleum Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Rasul Bux Phulpoto as a Director, effective from May 22, 2025, replacing Syed Muhammad Mujtaba Jafarey. The company operates within the designated market category of oil and gas.

Mr. Phulpoto is a retired BS-21 officer of the Provincial Secretariat Service, Government of Sindh, with a comprehensive educational background in Arts and Law from the University of Sindh. His professional qualifications include expertise in Human Resources, Management, Finance, and Audit.

Throughout his career, Mr. Phulpoto has held several senior positions in both federal and provincial governments. At the provincial level, he served as Secretary in departments such as Labour, Transport, Industries & Commerce, Public Health Engineering, and Works & Services. Additionally, he was an Additional Secretary in Planning & Development, Population Welfare, and Social Welfare. His notable roles also include Project Director for the Lines Area Re-Development Project and Commissioner of the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution in Karachi.

At the federal level, Mr. Phulpoto contributed to ministries concerning Housing & Works, Health, Special Education, Industries, and Local Government. His leadership positions include serving as Managing Director of Pakistan Steel Mills, CEO of PHA Foundation, Chairman of the Pakistan Tobacco Board, and Chairman of Pakistan Reinsurance Company Limited.

Currently, Mr. Phulpoto is an Independent Director on the boards of the Utility Stores Corporation and the Privatization Commission of Pakistan. His past board roles included Chairmanship of SITE Limited, Sindh Workers Welfare Board, and various committee memberships with SESSI, EOBI, NITL, and other national institutions. He has also completed Directors' Training Programs, including certification through the Centre for Executive Education at IBA Karachi.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Hascol Petroleum Limited will inform the TRE Certificate Holders of this development. The inclusion of Mr. Phulpoto on the board is part of the company's ongoing commitment to strengthening its governance and leadership structure.
